If you are sitting in ceremony

For Participants

Everything you need before and after your retreat: your dates, the eight preparation practices, your dieta, what to bring, and gentle guidance for the two weeks after. Your journal stays with you.

  • Today: what to focus on
  • Your retreat dates and nights
  • The eight preparation practices
  • Gentle support on the night itself
  • A private journal
  • Your dieta, counted day by day
  • The health questions, answered in your own words
  • The agreements, and what we promise you
  • What to bring, and why
  • The two weeks after, which matter as much as the night

If you lead ceremony

For Guides

Everything a guide needs: who is coming, their preparation and dieta, the ceremony space and the night, and the care that follows. For one guide or a whole retreat center, with helpers.

  • Each day begins with the upcoming ceremony
  • Everyone in your care
  • Preparation and the dieta for each person
  • Retreat dates and places
  • The ceremony space and the night
  • Integration, with the follow-up call already planned
  • Agreements and teaching materials
  • Private messages with each participant

Eight practices, open to you from the start.

Your guide may suggest which one to focus on now, but nothing is ever held back. The dieta begins two weeks before your first night, so you can always start on time.

  1. Setting your intention
  2. Refining it
  3. An object for it
  4. Meditation and the dieta
  5. Taking care of business
  6. Building support
  7. Embrace nature
  8. Planning the days after

Your inner work stays yours.

Ceremony asks you to open up. Threshold holds what you share with care. Your messages are protected the same way as Signal, the private messaging app trusted around the world, so only you and the person you are writing to can ever read them.

What happens in ceremony is sacred. It belongs to you and the people you choose, today and for the rest of your life.

  • Only the two of you

Your messages can only be read by you and the person you are writing to.

  • Private now, private always

Your words are protected today, and built to stay protected for many years to come.

  • Know who you are talking to

You and your guide can easily confirm you are speaking with each other.

  • No ads, ever

Threshold has no ads and never sells your information. It does not use your location.

  • Your journal is yours

Your journal and reflections stay on your phone. You decide if anything is ever shared.

  • A key only you hold

When you first open the app, you receive a personal recovery card. Only you have it, so your journey stays yours. Please keep it somewhere safe: if both your phone and the card are lost, your journal cannot be restored.

What the app holds, in plain words.

You will see this the first time you open the app.

What it holds

  • Your answers to the health questions, so the people caring for you can support you well.
  • The retreat you are joining, and the nights you will sit.
  • Your preparation, and how far along you are.
  • Your journal and your messages, on your phone and nowhere else.

What it will never do

  • Share anything about you with other participants.
  • Use your location.
  • Show you ads, or sell your information.
  • Let anyone else read your messages or journal.

Keeping a passcode on your phone is part of what keeps your journey private.
