Protecting your private information is our priority. This policy applies to www.templeofhermes.org and to the Temple of Hermes ("the Temple"), a church. By using this website, you agree to the practices described here.
What we collect
We do not collect any personal information about you unless you choose to give it to us. You may share information with us when you:
- write to us through the contact form or by email
- apply for membership, the Ceremonial Grant Program, facilitator training or the Reality Creation Mentorship
- give a gift or suggested donation
- sign the participant waiver
- join our mailing list
Depending on the form, this can include your name, email address, phone number, where you live, and your answers to our questions. Our application, contact and other forms never ask about your health.
How we use it
We use what you share only to answer you, to consider your application, to prepare for and hold ceremony safely, to send receipts for your gifts, and, if you join our mailing list, to write to you about the Temple. You can leave the mailing list at any time.
Your health screening
After your welcome conversation, you answer a short health screening so we can hold ceremony safely. Those answers are handled differently from everything else:
- They are locked with the Temple's encryption key the moment they reach our server, before they go anywhere. Only the Temple holds the key that unlocks them.
- They are never stored on this website and never sent as readable email.
- They are read only by the facilitators who need them to hold ceremony safely, as described in our Code of Ethics.
Gifts
Gifts are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never seen or stored by the Temple. We receive your name, email address, the amount and the purpose of your gift, so we can send a receipt and keep our records.
Who we share it with
The Temple does not sell, rent or trade your information. We share it only with the services that help us run this website and our ministry, and only for that purpose:
- Stripe, to process gifts
- Smartwaiver, for the participant waiver
- the services that deliver our email, forms and mailing list
- our website host, which keeps standard server logs
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or when someone's life or safety is in immediate danger.
Automatically collected information
Our website host records standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. These are used to keep the site running and secure. This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and does not use third-party analytics.
Security
This website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). We keep what you share with us private and limit who can read it. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so please do not send anything more sensitive than a form asks for.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has shared information with us, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by writing to contact@templeofhermes.org.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time and will post the new version on this page with its date.
